"Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande

Wednesday, August 5  | 7 - 9 PM  in the Community Center

"Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End" is a profound, New York Times bestselling non-fiction book by surgeon Atul Gawande that explores the limitations of modern medicine in addressing aging and death. Released in 2014, Gawande argues that while medicine has triumphed in managing injury and disease, it often fails the terminally ill and elderly by prioritizing clinical safety and biological survival over human autonomy and quality of life.
