Worship at Rooftop
PURPOSE:
To glorify God through song while facilitating an experience and lifestyle of transformational, God-honoring worship for the people of Rooftop.
RELEVANT ROOFTOP VALUES:
GUIDING VERSE:
"Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people." (Psalm 149:1)
EXPLANATION:
“Worship is a lifestyle.” “Worship is a response.” While worship can be lots of things to lots of people, one thing is for certain: From the very beginnings of God’s people, His glory has been reflected back to Him through music and songs. The Rooftop worship team strives to carry on this tradition.
Every week, teams of musicians and singers put together songs to be sung by the collective people of Rooftop on Sunday mornings in worship of our God.
Additionally, every few months, Rooftop schedules special nights of worship and prayer called “Boiler Rooms.” Though we meet in the sanctuary, we call these nights “Boiler Rooms” because of the symbolism of what a boiler room does: provides the energy to the rest of the building. Similarly, these nights of extended worship and prayer energize the body of Christ at Rooftop Community Church, and provide a needed opportunity for us to live out our value of worship.
IF YOU WANT TO GET INVOLVED:
- If you play an instrument or sing and feel like God might want you to use your gifts on the Sunday morning stage, contact Jason Herbig for more information or an audition.
- Whether on Sunday morning or at a Boiler Room, sing loudly and worship our God. In God’s eyes, there is no distinction between those on the stage and those in the seats. Our songs are performed for Him and everyone is in the band!
