PURPOSE:
To maintain, beautify, and otherwise care for the inside and outside of the church building of Rooftop.

EXPLANATION:
In July of 2005, God entrusted the people of Rooftop with a building in which we could worship, meet, and centralize all ministry activity. The building has been a great blessing for all of these reasons, and we are still thankful to God for providing us with it.
With these blessings have come new responsibilities. We realize that God has entrusted us to care for the building-which is, in fact, His building-and we strive to care for it accordingly.
This care, or stewardship, of the building and grounds takes many forms. Much of the work takes the form of regular and predictable maintenance: a member of the cleaning crew cleans the inside of the building every week; in the summer, the grass is mowed every week or two; in the winter, snow is shoveled. Other tasks pop up unexpectedly, and when the building needs unexpected repairs, we usually try to attend to them "in house" before hiring professionals. And some tasks fall into neither the maintenance nor the repairs categories, but are proactive: for example, some Rooftoppers have taken it upon themselves to landscape the grounds in an effort to bring aesthetic value to our little house of worship.
