Summer of Love

In the summer of 1967, over 100,000 young people flocked to San Francisco in a counter-cultural celebration. It became known as the "Summer of Love," as hippies from around the world experimented with communal living, sexual liberation, and political expression. It was a seminal moment in the social revolution of the 60s.

We plan on having our own "Summer of Love" at Rooftop. No, no, no...not that type of summer-love. A Summer of Love in which we spend our time studying Scripture to find out what real love is.

You see, the word "love" is thrown around a lot today. But God, as the One who is love, knows what love really is. He even inspired a book about it. It's called "First John," and it's in the New Testament. In the book the author talks about what love is, how we can experience it, how we can share it, how we know we have it, and how Jesus came to earth as the ultimate expression of God's love for humanity.

So we know you've got a lot going on this summer. But surely you've got time for some lovin'. Spend the summer months with us at Rooftop learning from the book of First John what love really is. Maybe we'll even start our own love-revolution.
