Doing Church Floor-By-Floor

The Bible calls the Church "the body of Christ" on earth.  The Church is God's instrument.  It's his army.  It's his bride.  The Church is his chosen ones, called out from among the world's people as the new Israel.

But for all its mystery and eternal importance, getting involved in the Church can be hard to do.  It can be hard to get to know people, hard to find a place to serve, hard to stay connected.

Part of that is inevitable.  Church is hard.  But at Rooftop Community, we want to make being part of the body of Christ at least a little bit easier.  So we talk about the "Four Floors" of doing church.  At the first floor, you just COME.  At the second floor, you CONNECT.  At the third floor, you CONTRIBUTE.  And at the fourth-floor, you COMMIT.  People who find a place in the body of Christ go through that process, even if they don't know it.  Some pass through those floors quickly, some slowly.  But everyone does.

Spend four weeks with us doing church "floor-by-floor."  Why?  Because finding your place in the body of Christ is a process, and a difficult one.  And the Bible offers plenty of good advice on how to help the process along.  So spend the month of September with us as we learn more about the Church and how God wants to help you become a part of it.
