There's a lot that goes on in any given church: potlucks, singing, boring sermons, more potlucks. But what exactly is the business of the church? What is it that church-people do that actually makes them churches? And how should they be doing these things?
At Rooftop we've identified six primary activities (The Big Six) that healthy churches devote themselves to as God's people, in order to advance their mission and experience the fullness of what a healthy church can be like. These (Big) six include teaching, worship, community, service, evangelism, and prayer. To be honest, we at Rooftop do some of these better than others. You probably know which. Most churches have their strengths and weaknesses. But we think the healthiest churches do all of these things well, or should at least be trying to.
If you want to be a part of a healthy, growing church, spend seven weeks with us re-discovering The Big Six. Come enjoy some candid conversation about which of our six we can grow in, and how you can help us. Because there's more to church than just potlucks and boring sermons. (Or at least, there should be....)
