Rooftop's Variety Night and Art Auction

Mark your calendars now for the Rooftop Variety Night and Art Auction (formerly Coffeehouse) February 24.

We’re looking for jugglers, magicians, actors, stand-up comedians, poets, singers, dancers, musicians, artists, or anyone else with a hidden talent to showcase that night. Both young and old.

Some art will be performed. Others will be auctioned off to benefit the Rooftop’s Next Steps Capital Campaign.

Start planning your act and crafting your art now. We will also accept any donations of art or services to auction off.

The event is free. Concessions will be available for a small fee.

Building Ball

2011 World Series Watch Party

Join us this Wednesday (Oct. 26) as we gather to watch Game 6 of the 2011 World Series at the church, 6915 Weber Road. The doors open at 6:30. We'll provide the live broadcast, sodas and snacks. Bring a goodie to share. No child care will be available, but feel free to bring the kids.

Fall State of the Roof 2011

Want to know more about how the church works as an organization? Join us for the State of the Roof meeting from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28. We’ll update our ongoing building search and our mid-year financial status. We also will elect new elders for the upcoming year. For more information, pick up an elder brochure at the connections counter or email admin@rooftop.org. If you want to apply to be a voting member at the meeting, applications are also in the church lobby.

Movie Under the Stars

Join us for a free outdoor screening of Pixar's Finding Nemo on Friday, Sept. 30. Invite your friends, family and neighbors. The movie starts at 7 p.m. Come early and bring a picnic. We'll also have games and prizes before the film. Don't forget a lawn chair or blanket to sit in the parking lot. Free popcorn and water will be available.

Rooftop Casino Night

Mark your calendar and hire a babysitter for a evening of games, friends and fun at the Rooftop Casino Night, 7 p.m. on Saturday August 20. Proceeds for the event will go to benefit the Homes for the Homeless Mexico Mission trip. Just $10 at the door will get you a bucket of chips to play for the night.**

**While gambling at church may cause some eyebrows to raise, the evening is meant for fun and not winning money. It’s the perfect event to bring along friends and neighbors who might not otherwise step foot into a church. Christmas Eve Service

Join us for our special Christmas Eve service, Dec. 24, 2010, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to share in the real meaning of the holiday. There will be no Rooftots classes, but kids are welcome and encouraged to be a part of the worship and devotions.

Celebrate and Serve for Christmas

Join us Sunday, Dec. 11 to celebrate the Christmas season the Rooftop way. After second service, we will share a lunch feast with all the holiday trimmings at Mesnier Elementary School. Then we'll head to the Kingdom House in downtown St. Louis to serve needy families as part of the Christmas Gift Shop. The event is perfect for the whole family.

Bring a dessert to share at lunch and we'll provide the rest.

Rooftop will also be collecting new jeans - child, teen and adult sizes - to contribute to the Kingdom House gift shop. Donation box will be available in the lobby at Rooftop and at the Christmas party.

Lunch will begin about 12:30. The Kingdom House project will be from 2:30 until 5 p.m.

State of the Roof (GFE)

Join us at 7:00 on Friday night, October 29^th, for our semi-annual State of the Roof meeting. At this fall's SOTR, we'll be voting on two new possible additions to the elder team (Kyle Herrman and Will Joyce), and voting on term extensions for three existing elders (Paul Mueller, Hudson Davis, and Brent Creach.) For more information on these elder candidates, and eldership in general, please pick up an Elder Brochure in the lobby on Sunday morning.

In order to vote at the State of the Roof meeting, you need to be an approved member of the Rooftop Voting Roster. Applications to the VR can be picked up, filled out, and submitted in the lobby. The deadline for applying to the VR is Friday, October 15^th.

Our annual Trivia Night will be Friday, April 27 at the Affton Elk's Lodge. Proceeds go to benefit the Affton Christian Food Pantry and Rooftop's mission trip to Mexico in December. More info to come...
